About

“This is the last crappy job I’m ever going to have,” JoJo said, and then she quit.

In Seattle, JoJo was a sales rep for a bottled Italian soda manufacturer. The colored liquid had the resemblance in both texture and flavor to Nyquil– except it had bubbles.  While the job totally sucked and the product was almost impossible to sell, that crappy job changed her life.

When the opportunity to voice radio commercials for the nasty beverage landed in JoJo’s lap, she took it. As soon as she stepped behind the microphone, she felt right at home.

The day after she quit, JoJo found the best voice over coach in the world, Veronica Weikel and a year and a half later, cut her demo tape.  (Yes, I said, “tape.” Check Wikipedia if you don’t know what a cassette tape is.) Three days after sending out her new minted demos, she was hired for her first VO gig.  JoJo voiced a children’s educational video recording glamorous things like…cat…C-A-T, cat.

JoJo found her calling in 1997 and has been earning her keep as a voice over talent ever since.

At the same time she was figuring out how to get work as a VO talent, JoJo also decided she wanted to write a book.  Who does that?

With an idea that wouldn’t go away and a solid case of ignorance, JoJo wrote Dirt Farmer Wisdom. Red Wheel/Weiser published this ode to her Danish roots in 2002 and it will be released as an e-book fall of 2011. Her latest book, Ready, Set…Pitch! has been sold and is due out in 2012.

JoJo was cruising right along when that damn light bulb goes off again.

She wanted to combine her two worlds, voice over, and writing…but how?  Start a cutting-edge business of course! JoJo launched Chapter & Voice in May 2011. Using professional voice talents, including her, Chapter & Voice records short AudioTeasers to help writers market and promote their books.

Now you are up to date, but  stay tuned; you never know what JoJo is going to do next.
